A runners Sub level is the fastest time it takes them to complete a distance. If you can finish a 5k in under 45 mins, this would make you Sub 45. If you can then complete the 5k in 44 mins, you become a Sub 44. The whole ethos of ‘Sub Zero’ is that we don’t want the pressure of having to ‘keep up’ or reach certain markers right now. We just want to enjoy running and gradually build up our abilities.
(Sub Zero is also the name of one of my favourite Mortal Kombat characters and the name of the ultra cool cars from Top Gear. I’m a nerdy girl and proud of it!)
With all classes I want clients to work to their own abilities and build from there. I have been in so many situations where I just felt out of my depth and beyond the expected capabilities, it sucks so I’m done with it. Every one of my sessions is designed to allow each individual to work to their own abilities and use the time to build on their training how they choose.
Sub Zero is a 6 week program with three days training, Sunday 10-11am, Wednesday 6.30-7.30pm and Friday 10-11am. Each week has a training theme and every week we use a different space locally to train our outdoor running. Our training week starts on a Sunday and ends on a Friday giving you the option to take days off in between and if you’d like to, you can visit ParkRun on the Saturday to test out your new running skills. The aim is to build your running legs, gain confidence and give you the support you need to become the runner you want to be. If you can make one run per week you won’t miss out on the training but if you can make more than one session you’ll become a stronger runner, faster.
I enjoy my running most when I physically enjoy the run. The aim for each session is to not just run but socialise and get to know like minded people from all walks of life. Everyone is there to support each other and to help make fitness an simple part of life.
Every session we love a good warm up and cool down to make sure we’re working to the best of our abilities and not too sore from training afterwards.
